hey all.
I'm in kind of an iffy position. I haven't weighed myself in a few months and I have a check-up with my regular doc on monday. I know I'll get weighed then, and I'm terrified that the scale will show I've gained.
I haven't been eating anything our of the ordinary than I usually do, but still.... I go out with the family to eat once or twice a week, and I'll have a chicken sandwich with cheese for lunch when I go to my college. Should I be eating differently? I feel so guilty whenever I have something like cheese or ice cream, even if it's just a little bit.
I feel great, my clothes are getting looser and looser, but whenever I see the bulges that never seem to go away, even after two years, I start getting this sinking feeling that makes me feel terrible.
I'm going to be seeing a plastic surgeon in June to see about getting rid of the excess skin around my middle, but my legs are still pretty thick. I should be getting on my stationary bike more often, but I can only do 10 min. at a time. The surgeon said I should be doing 30 min. a day.
I'm just not sure what to do.

if your clothes are getting loose then you are losing inches .. You could be building muscles. i wish you the best and dont stress to much

Losing inches says it all--your body is burning fat! That's what you want to have happen. However, it can be frustrating when you want the inches lost to be from a particular part of the body and that doesn't happen.....In my case, I still have some stubborn belly fat. The surgeon doesn't care about it because a plastic surgeon could remove it, but I'm not planning to have plastic surgery, so I care about it. I think that we eat have have a spot where the fat loss will be the last place for it to go. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you are making consistently healthy food choices and are reasonably active, you should be fine. Good luck. :)

Are you where you want to be? If you are then don't worry about the scale. If you are not then try the pouch rules for dummies to restart loosing.

I think alot of us are so used to failing in the past we expect it to happen again. If you are worried about what and how much you are eating, do journal or keep track of your intake by using tools like my fitness pal? i have found it is much less stressful by taking action and be accountable for my calories in stead of wondering if I am eating too much or not getting in protein. No more guessing, I know when I have had a good or bad day and can correct mistakes that I am making If you can only do 10" on your bike can you add different forms of exercise to get in your 30"? Maybe try taking a 20" walk everyday along with the biking. Or use soup cans and add weight lifting, lunges, crunches etc to get in that 30". I had my surgery on 12/27 and so far have lost 86#. I have had nightmares that I step on the scale at the doctor's office and I have not only regained that 86# but have also added on 50 more! I cry and tell everyone that I don't know how it could have happened I am working so hard but in the dream I can tell they think I am a failure.Hope you find this helpful and not a lecture. Good luck tomorrow!
