Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I think you are doing great...getting around really well for only a week out! Good for you!
Wonderful on the walking!! This is sooooo helpful!!
For my program, the protein shake counts as part of our liquids, so I didn't have to wait to have one, which helped me get in my protein... But all programs are different. And if you keep working towards your goals of intake, you'll get there!
My fav quote that keeps me going is this....
"slow down, calm down don't hurry, don't worry, and trust the process"
I have this hanging on my frig, a pic of it in my DS photos, and the background on my phone! It is my saving grace some days : )
On that note, why is your protien shakes not being counted as fluid? You should be counting all fluids, and protien shakes and drinks do double duty. Don't short your protien, you need that for energy. Not enough and you will be tired and down.
Don't get tunnel vision and just look at now, look on down the line. :)
I was told that all liquids count toward you liquid intake, so if you are already on the full liquid stage then the protein shakes would count. But as stated already every plan is different.
Here is to hoping that in 1 week after my surgery I feel as good as you do!
Congratulations on the the no pain and able to move around so well!
