The owners of the abandoned farm I am currently working invested in a new John Deere x350 riding lawn mower this past spring. Mowing the main compound is probably as much work as this model was designed for, but I've been mowing the smaller pastures with it, anyway. The owner's are techies. I haven't broken the news to them yet that I am taxing the life span of their investment considerable. So far, they are simply thrilled to be able to see some of this herbal wonderland without undue wear on their designer blue jeans.
This week my mower abuse branched out into the rented pastures where the tenant cattle rule. Their home is over 130 acres, so I doubt I'll tax this mower THAT far, but. . . I can resist anything but temptation.
At the resident cattle looked ready to call the local tenant's council when I started mowing the pasture which holds their water tank. After I put the mower away on the first day, they sniffed the cut strips with puzzled suspicion. Most of what I was cutting were herbs which are toxic to them, so I have no doubt the odor was offensive to them. They grew a bit bolder as the work progressed. During this morning's mow, they were more interested in what the mower left behind than in the mower, itself. I was almost out of gas, anyway, so I put the mower away sooner than I had planned in order to close the gate to the big barn before they got too bold. I suspect that soon they will be chasing the mower like a human child chases an ice cream truck. I can almost hear the calves crying, "Mommy! Mommy! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!"

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
More power to ya on the mowing. I refuse to do that sort of yard work. Mowing season will be over soon at least.
For sure, I'd buy a tractor before I'd buy a Jaguar. No, Dear, you can't borrow it. I'm likely to use itching powder for you next laundry load if you even ask.
To my relief, she declined to take the driver's seat and fiddle with the controls. Instead she watched me with inquisitive eyes that seemed to say, "Where ya goin'?, We was just getting started. . . I'll be gentle, I promise."
