I would probably try to get around using their name as much as I can while around them and then try to ask the person who introduced us or someone else I know who is there what that person's name is again. If there's no one I can ask for the name and I can't get around using their name, then I will own up to having a cruddy short term memory and ask them again what their name is.

You can always say "You remind me of _____ and come up with a nickname for them that you will always remember.

Hard one, try and see if someone comes up with their name, or just say sorry what did you say your name was again. The hardest part is when that person knows your name and then you can't remember theirs

I've read that if you associate their name with something you'll remember about them then it helps to remember their name. Like maybe a Fran who has frizzy hair. Associate the image of frizzy hair and the letter "F" with the name Fran.

Get them first!
You say "hi, remember me I'm ___________"
then they'll say your name and work they're name into the conversation hopefully.

lol. seinfeld did a take on that when he couldn't remember his ex-girlfriend named delores. what a riot.

Say. "Da*n, I'm drawing a blank on your name." No one who knows me would be at all surprised, although my husband finds it annoying. Ha ha.

lo lol. i call them fred or wilma and they will correct me and i will say i knew your name silly i was just joking around

he knew it rhymed with a female body part. his guess was the wrong part and she stared at him because they had dated for a while and had only gotten back together because she thought he finally had matured.

the reason they broke up was because she said he was immature, not really there in the relationship -- and when he got engaged and then broke it off, she thought he had changed and matured because at least he had gotten engaged.

she said to him, you don't even know my name do you. she told him her name was delores, and left in a huff. its a funny one. he was annoyed he forgot then shrugged his shoulders and went back to what he was doing which was hanginig with george of course. lol.
