lucky i didn`t add an "honourable mention" list, it`d probably end up being every game i`ve ever played!
well, except Dick Tracy on the c64, that was dump.

LOL on the C64. I had one when I was a kid. Didn't have the money for a floppy disk right off, but my parents were kind enough to "splurge" on the cassette drive. I had a dungeon trawler type game for it called Telengard. Very simple maze like dungeon, monsters would appear at random at the interesections and you'd be treated to their treasure after defeating them (for which there was nothing to do with but amass).

For my first go at the game, I had a friend over to check it out. After waiting 20 minutes for it to load, he gave up out of boredom and left... Thank god those days are over. I'm barely patient enough to wait the minute or so it takes to launch a Civilization 5 game on the PC.

get a SNES, cartridges load times ftw :D

i never had the disk drive either, just the tape deck.
Best "F this for a laugh" loading mission i had was for Atomic Robokid... you had to load BOTH sides of the tape and when you lost your 3 lives you had to reload for some reason.
as you can imagine, i played it once and then "recycled" the tape :D
