I didn't gamble for about six weeks because I was without a drivers license. Now the demon is back and it's about to destroy my life. Yesterday I spent $1000 and then wrote $2000 in hot checks. I won't get paid until the end of the month. I want to stop for good this time. I called the casinos today and told them to remove me from their mailing list. I want to start my life over and forget these terrible days.

Hi - Don't give up and do whatever is necessary to get there. The people on this site (only been a member for 2 days myself) will reach out and speak inspirational words to you too. But the decision has to be your own ultimately. I am there with you 100%. I am a 35 year old female with the same problem. I reached out yesterday and I already feel a little better (not much yet, still regret, etc but I feel just a tad better having talked to some). You can do it. Keep your faith and be completely honest here and those with the same issue will reach out and find you and help you. You will conquer it. I also want to conquer it. Be nice to yourself and read these posts every day and I think we can all get through it. :)

I know you have had some success. Don't let yourself get bogged down by hearing the negative voices that we let ourselves tune into. I know that financial difficulties feel like they are life threatening but they aren't. I have been down the road of owing money and feeling desperate. As, I think, so many of us here have.
I am glad to see you back, but am so sorry for your current situation. If I remember correctly you were the first one to answer the "roll call". Keep checking in! We are in this together. Love and hugs, your friend, ~atticus

We all feel thst pain. The disbelief of how far things have gone . You can put these terrible days behind you. Use this determination to pull yourself out of this addiction.Our life is more than a gambling addiction we are worth the fight.

Hi girlieo 74. dont beat yourself up too bad. we have all been there. i recently went about 6 months without gambling . then in a drunken state of mind decided to go back and blew like 1500$ i was up alot too at one point but continued until i lost it all back and then some. it was like the demon had me in a stranglehold...even after 6 months. win or lose its always the same tragic ending. hang in there things will get better. getting off mailing list is a good start. best wishes and take care Johnny
