hi there everyone. With gambling i went through hell, i started gambling in 2010-2014. I gambled everyday on the slots, and when i quit slots i went to gamble everyday on lottery. This month i'm 2 years free of gambling. Just posting because there is hope. Gambling is an awful addiction. I quit by getting self excluded, and through gamblers help therapy. I'm still in therapy, i see my therapist every 2-3 weeks. Face to face therapy helps. I am going to be completely honest and say that i occasionally went back to gamble last year, no more than 3 or 4 times in that one year, and learnt that the machines take a lot of money in a short amount of time. Twice i left with like $25 up and when i went back i lost it all plus some extra i lost like $70 the last time i gambled. I used to gamble with higher amounts when i was fully addicted to it. Anyway. I still have my demons. I still smoke tobacco and like many former gamblers started spending money on stuff like buying on ebay, but that's more like a hobby and it's serious but not as crippling as gambling. Any thoughts?
I do believe that we self talk some awful words to ourselves while we are in our addiction. Those words have to be replaced also.
