Hi, I am two days into my recovery. I have never joined a support group. I know I have a gambling addiction and if I don't quit it will be the death of me. The stories I have read have been so helpful! Its sad to know that so many people are in the same boat as me but at the same time nice to know that I am not alone in this fight. My plan is to check in daily to this wonderful sight for strength so I can beat this demon of gambling.

Steve,

Come on in...kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable. You're amongst a family of friends with a common bond. We can appreciate the turmoil one goes through trying to decide whether in fact a gambling problem exists. We can empathize with the angst of emotions swirling around in your head....a feeling of weakness, shame, embarrassment over not being able to control ourselves in a casino. We have all carried the heaviness of the troubles we placed
on our own plates...it can be overwhelming at times.

But know this....you are not alone. This site, single-handidly, helped me begin my GF journey almost 3 years ago. Here, you will find the help of loving, caring people who from the depths of their hearts and souls , pour out pure and honest testimonials of our journals....of our quest to be free from this addiction.

There will always be someone here than you can vent with, share your sorrows and celebrate your victories. Just keep coming back daily!

theres no cure, just racking up the seconds/minutes/hours with us, the more you stay away - they easier it will become, your head is fill w/nonsense and cannot think straight, day 2 is good, day 3, 4, 5 you start to feel "normal" again, it creeps up on you fast, stay strong, get over the wave, its great on the other side of the breakers!

Steve - Wow - I can't say it any better than what has already been said. You have heard from some of the best, most inspirational people I know on this forum! They have been my lifeline coming here. Keep coming back and doing what is suggested. Use your journal to get it out, or start a new thread or use both! Talking and sharing is invaluable to your recovery! Keep coming back!!
