Prayingfor....

Several months ago I threw out a suggestion for a 1st Annual DSGA Family Reunion....yes, in Topeka Kansas, only because of its centralized geographical location north, south, east and west. We have not established any concrete plans for the festival, but wouldn't it be a hoot? I so want to meet all the wonderful people who have been like my extended family.

If there is ANY possibility that more people might have a genuine interest in making this happen, I'll be first in line to sign up for the planning committee.

It makes me smile just knowing that you feel the same way I do. Can't you just envision us all walking around with "Hi, my name is... stickers containing our avatar names. What a kick in the pants that would be.

I'll keep you posted if this hairbrain idea ever takes flight.

I'll design the Tee shirts! We can rent a portable photo booth! Too Dewitt to quit can hook up the grill or tailgating activities. Estell or E can provide her thought provoking introspections. Tagg, gurl, you can just walk around being fab-u-lous! We can make this a two day event. The first day, casual and the next a formal dinner. No pomp or circumstances. Just being who we are: Beautiful and Marvelously made. Works in Progress who have been blessed enough to occupy this short space in time with one another. WE ARE FAMILY! Kevin, our baby, this youngman will probably be the youngest member who will blow our minds with wisdom beyond his years. The OG: Oldest Gambler can share how they have managed to survive this learning experience. We can shake Topeka on the last night with a heartfeld, "Hell NO, we won't GO!" In the meantime, we'll just keep living, loving, laughing and learning about demonstrating what true support is all about. Unconditional LOVE! Now we believe in telling the truth however, we do so in love. We don't believe in kicking people when they are down nor allow them to beat themselves up! GOD IS GOOD!

I only live a couple hours away, will be there for sure!

Yvegas...absolutely fabulous strategy. Damn, I nominate, second and hereby declare you Chairperson of the 1st Annual DSGA Family Reunion -Summer 2013 in Topeka Kansas.

If there is a DSGA family member out there who is familiar with the Kansas area, would sure love to hear from you about possible site locations. Would probably need to be a county or state park equipped with BBQ grills, pavilion, etc. Maybe campgrounds nearby...sure would be nice to sit around roasting marshmallows
and listening to Dewitt' stand-up comedy act.

OMG Vegas...I'm like a little kid on Christmas eve.....excited with anticipation...you're the bomb for already laying out some groundwork for the event. And I'll tell you what...come he'll or high water, at the very least, this event will come to be, even if it's just you, me and prayingfor in attendance! I'll hit you on the message board in a few.

Well, there you go, prayingfor....it's official! Topeka Kansas 2013! It's game on.

PS...fab-u-lous will be the Topeka Kansas 2013...fab-u-lous will be when I get to wrap my arms around YOU!!! I'm a smart worker bee...I'll be hanging with Dewitt, grilling and sipping on a little happy juice. Of course we know there are certain prohibitions in state parks. Don't worry- we'll be sure to bring paper bag buggers to keep our "Kool-AIde" just that.

I live in Kansas, so I'd be more than happy to scout out locations.

What time of the year are you thinking? I would suggest fall. Spring weather is really unpredictable (tornado season and all) and our last couple of summers have been UNBEARABLY hot.

@ Resolved...what airport would be best for me to fly into?

Kansas City (MCI) is just about 1 1/2 hours from Topeka. Wichita is more like 2-21/2. Usually KC is cheaper to fly into, unless you're on an AirTran or Allegiant route.

Resolve...Kansas City MO seems more logical, close to airport...a lot less rental cars, etc. What's your thoughts? Like I said, I literally looked at a map of US and picked Topeka cus it's in the middle.

Whats everyone's thoughts? This is one trip we can get great pleasure out of by putting our brilliant fiduciary minds together for a magnificent cause that does not include gambling!

I totally agree! KC is a great city! Lots of parks, reasonably priced hotels, lots and lots to do.

Kansas City sounds great to me!!! I am so excited too!!! I would love to meet with all of you guys!!! I was just telling my husband, and he gave me a challenge...He wants me to stay GF this whole time before our meeting so that I will really have a reason to celebrate! I'm impressed and up for that challenge!!! He said he would love for me to be able to meet up with you guys. So COUNT ME IN!!!! So excited. :)

Sounds great, but I'm an introvert, lol. Besides which last tine Toto and I were in Kansas we had the adventure of a lifetime. It might be time for a sequel, because, you're the best friends anybody ever had.
I have been kind of nervous about flying ever since my house landed on the Wicked Witch of the East, but this board is all about getting past our fears, and besides "There's no place like home".

I'm in too! Haven't been posting a lot since I am pretty busy with work right now but have been GF since 8/4 and smooth sailing for the time being here. Would love to have a good excuse for a road trip, and this counts as one good excuse for me!

Crap, despite having my lucky striped socks on, I was crushed, beyond recognition. Decided to change my ways since that horrific event-no more lucky socks, just a lucky lasso now-and now taming lions!
