i cant be alone for 5 minutes after my daughter gets picked up before the thoughts creep and creep hard hard hard, all the time, its beyond comprehension, funny on some levels, and all sorts of annoying....works me over and over and over, its so relentless

safe today, tomm daughter comes home ....this is too much

have to go to vegas end of month

god give me strength to endure it, even if i slip, may i have the power to bounce back and try again

it is relentless, my friend, but we have to be just as relenltess with recovery. gambling has stolen enough of my life. I'm fighting to enjoy these so-called golden years. lol

remember to keep yourself busy. and my GA counselor told me to involve myself in activities that absorb my mind: exercise, reading, a good movie, times with friends, work of course, anything that can take my mind off gambling.

hang in there one day at a time....all right?

It is a piece of work. It makes me feel like I have multiple personalities. When you get a thought in your head, instead of considering whether to act on it or not (over and over again) - hear it as a call that something needs to be attended to... are you feeling lonely, do you have too much free time, do you have access to money, do you need to make plans with a friend, do you need to start some busy work.... fix those things right away instead of fighting the voice all day.
I would be sick over having to go to vegas. I don't need to be anywhere near that place!

i wanted to clarify, im going to vegas for WORK, and thats it...sorry, its a short 3 day trip, with lots of work in between, i'm catching the red eye out.

doing the best i can to decipher what i will feel on the 25th walking thru that god forsaken airport.....grrrrr

You will be alright. Just believe you are not any different then tbousands people walk through that airport. You will feel so proud that you are not one of those people digging through their purse to try their last luck. Your last luck of gambling has ended when you got on a recovery flight. Your new luck is that you have a job that is providing you with an opportunity to go to vegas. I know its for a work but still it's an oppirtunity to show yourself what you are really made of!

I used to lived in vegas and my daughter still lives there, so I know all about the fantacy land! Lol
