Spending years and years of gambling, chasing, borrowing, and yes even stealing. Manipulating, lying, chain smoking, not sleeping!!! Then I get enough strength to start changing my life, to start recovery. I am happier, I am proud of myself. Then I take a look in the mirror. I see the neglect that I have done to myself! Wonder where the beauty went. The youth. What have I done to me??? Is this a part of the journey? Facing the person gambling has made me????

Well at least that's something I never needed to worry about. R, I am sure you are still beautiful. What you need to notice is a sparkle in your eye that is back from not having to do all that stuff you mentioned.

Rs, it will all return! I also like was horrified of my reflection and now I see glow (most of the days). You just have to give yourself a chance. There will be a day you will Love your reflection in the mirror.

I feel the same way. I have aged tremendously. I think it's from the tremendous amount of stress it caused.

But, I remember a time when I wouldn't or couldn't even look in the mirror. I felt so much shame. I hated myself. I'm glad I'm not there anymore.

2live, I am glad you are not there anymore as well. I have shared so much good stuff with you. I have aged from stress as well. I used to be good looking but not anymore. You have grown so much on this site and if you remember when we talked privately a while ago about an incident I said o no to you as you get to much good from this site. You know what I am talking about and I said I will take care of it. You are a treasure on this site. We need you. Jon
