111 days in recovery. I had to take a pain pill last night, somehow I messed up my arm, not sure how, but I have ice on it, and I'm trying to get the swelling down. I took a pain pill, which I never do, that I had left over from my last dentist visit and a sleeping over the counter pill. It made me super sick.
I am usually up super early, but this morning, I just stayed in bed until after noon, I felt awful. I had my phone off. I called my mom, who was super depressed, and upset, she said, she thought I had gone back out and she was super afraid for me. I sat in my backyard and just starting to bawl, cried like a baby, I hated the fear I heard in her voice. It was pure fear, and the fact that I did that to my family and friends for so long just hit me today.
She explained that she isn't worried about ME going back out, she is afraid of the addiction, and how I would feel if I went back out. She knows me too well. Although the urges do come around, the odd part is, they are even stronger when something like this happens. Odd, I know.
Today I am grateful for my life, I am grateful for my family, friends, I am going to stay busy. I know there is the wreckage of my past, but what this addiction has done to my family and friends is huge. I can only do one day at a time, and pray that one day, the fear they have will get better.

they will began to believe and have faith in you again the longer you stay away. it took years for them to lose faith in us, soooooooooo, it may take a while for them to trust us again.
the important thing is you are recovering. and we here can certainly see it...............your family will too.
