I'm about 47 days GF now, can't remember exact number as I've lost count, which I suppose is a good thing. Had some small urges here and there, although last night, armed with my credit card (I had plans to buy work shoes) my urges were stronger than usual.
I walked to the wharf near the casino, and thought about the girl I currently adore. I told myself if I even wanted a CHANCE of a future with her, I should not throw my money away now, it was better to save it for whatever future I might have with her.
Anyway, today I was thinking about winning money. I don't normally speculate on stocks, but I have kept my eye on one recently. From my own research, I worked out that it wouldn't be a good buy, but I have watched it go from 1.7 cents to 3.1 cents.
I wondered, if I HAD bought those shares and walked out with the profit, how long would it be till I went 'hunting' again? In other words, how long would that profit last me?
This got me thinking about my gambling. Let's just say I went, got extremely lucky, won on roulette and got picked out of the crowd to win a cash prize, walking away with $6000.
So what? How long would $6000 last me? When I use all that up, I will be back for more, and chances are, that is when I'd lose it all back.
It's kinda a futile exercise, isn't it? We all want a win, thinking it'll solve all our problems and we'll never ask for more, but we will - we always will ask for more, because even a million dollars probably wouldn't be enough for a lifetime.

As compulsive gamblers, we seem to lose sight of the fact that "making that big score" usually results in us just squirreling that money away for our next visit to the devil's den. I used to do this so often. Never using the windfall for good causes.
Oh yes, for a few fleeting moments right after getting the cash, my
mind would develop this wonderful "master plan" of ways in which to
use the money wisely. Then, with some immediacy, my thoughts were diverted to when I would make my next trip to "win some more".
You are absolutely right, there is no amount of money that would satisfy the insatiable appetite of the evil wolf inside of us. It just wants to fed 24/7 until every last morsel of sensibility, self esteem,
truth, honesty and worthiness is ravishingly devoured!
Then we are left to deal with the pathetic remains of our own
carcasses!
I thank God I'm putting my best foot forward to feed and nurture the good wolf each and every day!
