I always thought I was a compulsive gambler because of the large amounts of money I would bet, win, and ultimately lose. I have lost literally hundreds of thousands the last several years.
This last time I slipped I lost $200, and I had that same awful feeling - you all know the one when you're driving home. I thought what's the matter with me, I only lost $200, but I realized it doesn't matter how much you lose...it's the behavior that matters.

Just thinking about this brings back the old feelings. The dread, the awful knowing. Knowing that I should have stayed away. That when I told myself -"this time it will be different", I knew, I was lying to myself.
