The hurt we have often plays apart in how we hear things, or how we defend ourselves. Throw an addiction on top of that..... things can get all messed up in communication.
The "real" me is one of those people that generally doesn't care what people think of me. I have grown thick skin. I had to.
Often I have been told I am intimidating in "real" life. That comes from people that don't like myself confidence.
How did I get this way? I look for people that are smarter then me and I learn form them. I find people to mentor me through out life.
I am not afraid to start something new. (oh if only I could tell some stories.)
I hate that my addiction was robbing me of the spontaneous, outgoing adventurous person I was.
That person has showed up again and I am looking forward to the next adventure.
I need all of you that are taking the time to respond to comments.
To teach us what works and what does not work.
To take time to be apart of the solution and not part of the problem.
I am thankful for the encouragement I have been given on this site.
I am accountable to all of you.

I totally know what you mean about the addiction robbing you of who you are. It did the same to me and I didn't like the person I become. Really only cared about gambling related things. Everything came 2nd. Was like I was trapped in a bubble with gambling always on my mind and didn't full hear and take in everything else around me. I missed out on lots of fun and enjoyment at places and events bc gambling took me over with having sports bets going on at those times. It's a disease and a drug that is harmful.
