Not sure where you live, but in my State they have addiction counseling for compulsive gamblers and you can meet with one for 60 free, or as I like to say “pre-paid” sessions. That’s been a good resource. I got that info from my GA meeting.
This addiction can hit anyone, yet it’s so hard to talk about it with someone who hasn’t experienced it or doesn’t think it’s real or understand.
You sound like you’re ready to quit and that’s the first step. You can do this; one day at a time.

Consider fessing up to your wife and enlisting her help to handle the money for a while. Find ways to put some roadblocks between your gambling and your money. Finding other things to do, planning things to do when times are toughest to resist, such as paydays or Fridays will help.
For me it has been an addiction that has taken fighting it on multiple fronts, whole-heartedly, on every level, consistently. It is doable.
