Still Chipping Away

Hey all,
I am still here and read most days but I am still chipping after having my almost 6 months of sobriety and falling off the wagon around my birthday in June.

I am not hopeless I keep getting on the wagon and sliding off every week or two. No horrific losses but then once you've been clean they are all horrific.
=/

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate this place even if I am just a ghost haunting the halls at the moment.

The only way to surely fail is not to try at all. Keep working at it Sabine and one day, without any rhyme or reason as to why then, it will stick for good. I'm pulling for you!!!

most of us have been on/off the wagon, which is why not a one of us can judge you.

keep getting back on that horse. everyone's journey is different, but we're all reaching toward the same ending: a gamble-free life.

trying to quit is a lot better than completely giving in to the urges.

and I am always grateful when someone has the courage to come back, admit what they have been doing, and move on up in their recovery. when I relapsed in June, it took me a couple of days to come here and 'fess up. but it felt good once I did it. I still regretted my choice, but there was no need in adding lies on top of the relapse. it wouldn't have hurt anyone but me!

keep in touch. this time next week it could be any one of us. we hope not, but we really don't know!
