I'm sorry you feel that way, I've been there. If there is a GA meeting near by I suggest you start attending it. It helps, if not, there is one online, and I attend that. It's very helpful. Take it One Day at a Time, and know your not Alone. God is Awesome and he won't let you down.

I guess sometimes it feels like we've hit rock bottom, only to find we have not. You have to want to quit gambling, more than you want to continue. Get another 2 weeks under your belt remembering how good it felt. Also, remember how terrible it felt to blow it, and end up back out there. We've (at least I have) been there many times, but it is good that you realize you can start again. We are not perfect, and we slip up sometime, but we must also have the strength to get back on track again. You can do it, take it one day at a time. Stop gambling one day at a time.

I am sure God will not let me down but boy have I let alot of people down-even myself. I want two weeks to go by GF and than forever!

ok, so you gambled, did you ever think that this is also part of your recovery. Maybe a lesson that this is such a vicious addiction ( I think you have taken a step into recovery). You can become GF. Think positive, we are human and we make mistakes. Get positive and get on that GF road of recovery. I know you can do this. Post in your journal, every day or even better anytime you feel you need a helping hand. We are here for you. We know how you feel, but most importantly you are not alone. thanks everyone, you are right Laura, it is part of my recovery. Two weeks seems like the number that I stop at. So going beyond will be great. I am one day GF. I don't know how to put it in words but I have felt in the last weeks that I am ready to quit, that it is not enjoyable (and it was not yesterday),that I am more serious about quitting and realizing the bad effects of this nasty habit. I consider myself an Ok person and gambling is not what I want to be known for.Here is to GF Monday!

Hey cloris I had a 2 week thing happening but in honesty it related to my paycheck, get paid, blow it, 2 weeks before I could give the machines a big thumping so I could be gamble free. Mine wasn't a real GF period more imposed. So now I can only work with one day at a time thats a big enough achievement for me, if that day is a day that I actually have some cash I can access and I dont gamble thats a bigger achievment, I have self excluded but I agree with the suggestion of others here if you have someone you trust that can look after your cash and cards when you are fragile thats something to try biggest hugs,
