Today, I find myself, grateful. I know that I try to stay grateful, and I try to remember that each day, but today I feel especially grateful.
I ran around this weekend, making dinner for family and friends, watching the game on Sunday, and although I was busy, I also felt really good, really blessed.
During my gambling days, I don't recall that feeling, at least very often, I was in constant turmoil, constant action, usually, covering up my losses, emotionally and financially, trying to fix everything, quickly, only to go out and do it again. I would have to crawl out of my emotional hangover, literally, crawl out, and pretend to be a functioning soul. Today, I am a functioning soul.
There are good days and not so good days in recovery. But, the good days outweigh the bad days of my gambling by a landslide.
I am in awe of the life that is in front of me, I am in awe of the love I have in front of me, and who I am now that I am not in conflict with the gambling addiction.

There are many days I have to put all that effort into a day. (not just because of gambling)
I have done it so long I can recognize when other people are doing it.
I am so happy that today you are a functioning soul. I like that idea.
