Usually, compulsive people need to limit their access to cash to get quit. You can make your debit card so that you have a lower limit, or you can get rid of your debit and credit cards and just get a prepaid credit card that you load with your monthly spending money, have someone else set the PIN and not tell you, making it worthless for getting cash, you can only make purchases. Hand over control of your finances to a friend or loved one for a while or hire a professional payee (they are insured and bonded and will likely cost far less than your gambling does. I used a professional payee and I have configured my debit/credit cards all kinds of ways. I am quit just about two years now but I continue to not have a credit card, never carry more than $19 and I have a low daily limit on my debit.
I can totally relate to you're pain and feeling of depression. I'm actually going through that now. In fact, I needed to come here and do something otherwise I will gamble in football. This week, I lost a ton of money, and I have felt like sh$%t the last few days. The first thing you need to is request for your online account to be disabled. I had requested for this to be done and they didn't want to at first... Can you believe that? I insisted and finally my request was processed. DO THAT RIGHT NOW. The money you lost is gone, once you accept it, you will feel better.
