I've been gambling for several years now. Started in 2010 when a business associate advised me of her good fortune at the casinos. She made it sound like she wins every time. So after having lunch with her I went to a casino by myself to try my luck. I won 3000.00 within 30 minutes on slots. That started it. I felt like I could now have a second job. Well ended up owing 10,000. in taxes that year and still paying it back. In 2012 finally tried GA at the advice of a friend. Went for awhile but didn't really help. Then heard I could have counseling and was able to get 20 free sessions. I was clean for a whole year. But then I started up again when a friend wanted to go to casino. I went and gradually slipped back over time.
Yesterday I went to casino and only had 10.00 in my pocket. But the casino gave me 55.00 in free play. After playing 15 minutes I won 315.00 off of their free play. But ended putting it back and withdrawing 400.00 from my checking account. Lost that too. This morning I had to pull 2000.00 from my savings to pay rent and stuff. I'm not liking myself today and am scared for my financial future. I do not want to live on this edge any longer. I'm grateful that I have found this site. Hopefully I can get clean and stay clean.
