positive steps

I took a couple of positive steps towards recovery and wanted to share...

I reached out to an old friend to confess...
I plugged GA meetings into my calendar (but I am nervous)
I deleted all of the slot machine games and apps from my computer

It's a start.

You are right on track....doing whatever it takes to limit your access to gambling. Stay positive and believe in yourself. So proud of the steps you have taken.

Good job. That's the right way to go. You can do it. Make sure your money is safe whenever you get it. I asked the bank to set my ATM limit at 20. That saved me big time. I have no access to cash at ATM's. Do what ever you can. Bear Hugs! Cher

I stopped hanging on an unhealthy relationship, hanging on in love triangle and chose a productive one for me. It took me 9 months. I still have scars. But it's a start. It cost me overwhelmed emotions and guilt trips, seeing How much I was hurting the one who truly loves me, so it brought me to relapse. I was looking to get numbed again. But thanks to everything I learned going through the battle for my freedom from gambling addiction. I have strength, I have tools to get up and keep walking my walk, leaving defeated enemy behind.

I have been reading about the pain and suffering we must also
go through to grow up and realize how our past imbedded
concepts and ideas need to be addressed and maybe
changed.
How we need to "walk through" instead of around to find out and figure out where we've been and where we are going.
That these painful memories and readjusting to life and people and memories are meaningful and must be done and most often are the times when we learn the most.

I choose to learn from life,
no longer to run away,
to grab the bull and ride it.
The gambling can come out the end of the bull.
