Don't you realize, can't you see -
Exactly what this demon does to me?
It haunts my nights, ruins my days.
Needing to win, it never pays.
My life feels like it's not my own,
This self-loathing I've never known.
Needing to stop, not knowing how
Lord please help me, help me now!
Ashamed and saddened, down so low
Can't sink further, this I know.
Taken over my mind, consumed my soul
I feel broken, not close to whole.
Very few who know me can relate
Or help me stop - it will perpetuate
A deep dark craving I have to slake.
A sick disease I cannot shake.
I'm trying so hard, caught in this trap,
to end this cycle, and stop this gap.
Between who I am and who I've become.
To my emotions, I have become numb.
Knowing it's very wrong but not caring,
On my morals this is wearing.
Pray for me please, is all I ask.
As I gave this daunting task.
