For me, GA was an amazing source of strength, information and UNDERSTANDING.
I felt insane in my addiction -- how could a competent person like me fall to such depths from love of gambling.
It sounds like you have much to fight for -- finance, good job, and I'm sure many other excellent things you love and care about. My hope is that you don't have to suffer too much pain, losing people/etc. because poker/gambling came first.
You've reached out, which is a huge first step -- don't stop w/ that! Get information -- figure out if you are an addict or just a "problem gambler". The addict can't stop on their own. We are here to help. Amazing people in GA fellowships are also here to help.
I had major twisted thinking when I was trapped. I deluded myself into thinking that gambling was the only thing worth living for. It's a powerful obsession -- but please know things CAN CHANGE. My brain started to "reset" after 30 days then 60 days and 90 days clean so I could begin to see the truth of my destruction. And I can stay on a path that keeps me away from the G.

Depending on how you think and from what point of view you are aware of how betting and gambling works. Many people really consider betting a sin, as much as I agree with this, but every man feels differently. I'm addicted to poker, he's already something more than a part of my life.
