THis disease for me was never about the mney. At the end of each loss with the booky or at the casino it became always about the money. I had and have no regard for money. I was always up at the casino and with the booky but I always had to gogogogogog until I ended up with no money. I dont love money I love the HIGH I get from placing a bet. Even if I knew I would lose I still loved the quick "fix". Yesterday I went and got hypnatized by a phychotherapist and I decided that I will do anything to stop this addiction. I need to before it stops me. I have 4 BEAUTIFUL children and a great husband but I live a double life. I place bets secretly I got to the casino without anyone knowing. I steal money to support my habit blah blah blah you have all heard the same stories. Taking time away from the family, been a royal BITCH if I lost (which was often), never did the right things in life. ENOUGH!!!! I too want to be gamble free and get all the good things in life without gambling! Please today is a great day!! Last time I placed a bet was on my daughters 17th birthday, yesterday!
Your story is so similiar to mine, altho I have not gone to get hypnotized. I am planning to attend some GA meetings this week if they are still going.
I too want to be rid of my old self and the double life I have been living.
