I think it is your addcitive brain unconciously
trying to get the fix again,
using all tactics to get you to go and give
it what it "thinks" it wants,
the last little vestiges of the growing TINY little
addictive brain fighting for the light of day
to escape and get out and gamble.
Keep strong
and vigilant and don't ever let him back
out again
and I think he will finally become so small
that he will have trouble breathing
and hopefully just DIE out and be gone.
you are doing great
and have had this before
so you know what it is and
don't give it power over you,
go to the higher power
and tell him you are needing
some more strength and
committment to beat it down.

I can definitely relate to the shame and guilt and regret. I'm so sorry about the dream it sounds horrible.
