The last time I placed a bet, I told myself I would get home in time to shower and go to work, of course that was a lie, I didn't make it to work, I called in sick. Tonight, I reflect on where I was a week ago, and how I made dinner tonight, got ready for work and I'm home, safe and sound, and I didn't place a bet today. I didn't gamble today. The weekend was a bit tougher than I anticipated, I thought a lot about going, but didn't go, I remembered as I was convincing myself it was okay to go one last time, that, it would be my last time, as I don't think I could make my way back. I'm still financially broken, but spiritually, today, I'm good. Thank you all for being here, I love to read your posts, they remind me, with a velvet hammer, I am not alone. Good night people.
I am proud of you for not giving in! Believe me.. it will be a much more different this week because you did not give in to the disease and let it run your life.
Keep posting so we can check on each other's progress..this is tough stuff we are dealing with and the only way to get through it is to feel like someone understands and can offer support/encouragement. This disgusting disease has alienated us from enough people that we love and who love us.
