Yesterday was my birthday. I thought maybe I could just go and use my comps, play a little and come home. A male friend was with me. But that didn't matter; I still couldn't stop. I actually won around $80.00 on the coupon I had. But as usual lost that and went to the ATM. It was only $100 and that would be okay to spend on oneself as a birthday gift; but I couldn't afford to give myself that gift. I felt lousy then. We all know the feeling of gloom and doom afterwards.
But, today I am giving myself another gift. I am going to have the best year I've had since my husband died in 2011. I am resolving to leave the casino scence behind. I am writing this as a pact with my brain! Goodbye gambling! Hello living!

but, I'm happy about the decision NOT to fill the void with gambling.
that is how this single gal started gambling: lonliness, and no one to be accountable.
however, I"m working on recovery now, and filling the void with other meaningful activities.
