Day one and step one is the hardest of all! Congrats on getting in the right frame of mind.

Remember the "man in the arena" quote? Become your own inspiration. You definitely have the strength to stop. Realizing you are unable to walk away even when you're winning is a good step toward truly accepting the absurdity of gambling. The games are designed to breed addiction and they cannot be defeated in the long run. Staying until you don't have to means to gamble any longer is a sure sign you are trapped in the cycle of compulsion. Every day you spend gambling you are taking one step closer toward destroying your life. That is a fact. There is no happy ending for a compulsive gambler. You just slowly work yourself toward financial and emotional ruin, taking a step closer to reaching a new low. Every day you succeed in staying away you take a step toward reaching your full potential in every aspect of your life. Every day you do not gamble you are truly winning. My addiction was fierce. I was spending 2 hours before work and all my free time after every day playing slots. I literally spent every day in the casino until I was either unable to get any more money that day or until I would have such bad anxiety I'd feel like I was going to have a heart attack or a stroke. I had no life. No friends, no girlfriend, no hobbies, nothing. I wouldn't clean my apartment or do laundry. I would eat nothing but processed garbage I could eat on the run. I struggled with terrible anxiety at work, worried about not getting back to the casino in time to hit a jackpot I believed was coming. It was all I did. It consumed my entire life. I was able to finally stop after months and months of failing. You also can do this. I believe in you. You just need to believe in yourself.

Thank you all for your advice. I don't know if this has happened to any of you but I have also come to realize that whenever I am succeeding in life, the self sabotage comes in with a vengence and THIS is what I will be very alert to from now on. The thought to go and gamble is at the very TOP of my self sabotage list. Negative self talk is another one and what is worse is that I myself am creating /doing all of it! There is no one else, no one and no situation to blame for my actions.
I am really looking at the way is really is for me. There is absolutely NO reason to go to a casino and gamble for me, NONE. I will succeed and in my mind I already have. I love all of you and I am on a SPIRITUAL path now. One thing I really have come realize is gambling and casinos are a spiritual death to me. I love all of you for your support!!! I WILL NOT WHINE about any of this because it serves no purpose. I will stay in touch..
