oh, I've lost $2,000 before after winning it, and really needing it. that is when I LEARNED that for me, a compulsive gambler, winning is still losing......crazy as it seems, there is no winning for me. cause even if I would leave with some winnings, in the next day or so, I would go back until it's gone.

hang in there with the rest of us, not gambling, one day at a time.

I always felt it was all the casino's money anyway, so what did i have it for an hour? two hours? it was just them loaning the money to me to play with, i think only a large hit like 25K or above would make me leave, but then again, i once one 10K and although didnt throw it back immediately, it slowly made its way back.....

that money wasnt yours to begin with, so now you are ok, and it brought you closer to sobriety, money has nothing to do with it, its just what drives the addiction. it could be peanuts, it doesnt matter..

You're a nurse--think of winning like a bandaid--it just gives you more time to gamble.....I've won jackpots just like I'm sure each of us gambling addicts have....and, for me, it made me "happy" cuz I knew I could gamble with even more reckless abandon for more hours.

Just like Stop and Its said...winning is losing and the house always wins.

Secretly in the worst throws of my addiction I'd think to myself that I was glad I lost and didn't hit a big jackpot on a particular night---cuz it meant I left the casino earlier & saved some personal time I could spend at home instead of in that hell hole.

Don't beat yourself up over it...we've all done it. Learn from it and apply it to the future...now that's a TRUE winning.
