Today is my birthday. Usually in the past few years on my birthday Ive gone to the casino to get my free birthday cash. And usually the money goes pretty fast and I end up going to the ATM or spending more money than just the free stuff.
Well its been 43 days since Ive stepped in a casino and my birthday present to myself this year is to NOT go there! Its the best present I can give myself. Im in a much better place now because the weight off my shoulders has been lifted. The support from my family, my journal, and finding this group are all great gifts. I also plan to reach out to a GA meeting next week which will be a first for me.
I wish everyone here a happy day. Everyone deserves to be happy.

After that game was over and I was feeling elated about the ending, it occurred to me that I could find adrenaline rushes and fun in other ways than those freaking casinos! This game was proof of that!
