After relapsing, today I turned my debit cards over to my sister and set a limit of how much cash she is to give me a week. I hope this will help me get on the road to recovery. I found myself not even wanting to visit this site as I felt I had failed yet again. But I am back and hope to stay on the wagon this time. I have also decided to make a few other changes in my life. Although I am not a habitual drinker, I tend to want to go for the gusto once I do pop a top. I do not want to replace one habit with another so I am going to give up both. I again found myself wondering how I was going to get the electric bill paid today and once again, my sis bailed me out but she now has my cards and is in control of my spending. Just wanted to get this little bit of my mind and hope to be on the right path.....have a great evening :)
I know that this is my last chance, my parents are not willing to help me financially this time and I am not even going to chance putting my husband through this again. I know I wouldn't want to deal with an addict falling again, I'm sure he won't either.
I hear you about the utilities, we are two months behind on the gas and electric bill. They are not cheap, its summer and we run the a/c constantly and heat a pool constantly. I am so sick of sweating the utilities!
So join me and lets kick this habit for good! We can do better than this!
You have not failed at recovery, especially since you are still making an effort.
You are human and vulnerable to an addiction, your addiction does not make you less of a person.
