19 days in my recovery, and tonight I am feeling good. I came home with the intention of doing my housework, and I did, but my phone was exploding with work as well, so I was negotiating deals, and cleaning at the same time. I started to thing about that commercial many years ago, "calgon take me away." Its a good kind of tired, and although I may be broken, my mortgage is paid, my house is clean, my job is done for the day and I'm going to sit and watch TV with my favorite four legged friends.
I have such a different appreciation than I did when I initially quit, although I am not happy I lost almost four months, and today I have 19, I will say, this time, I've learned more about myself than I have in a very long time.
I learned, I don't always have to be "happy." I learned that I can feel sad, but I don't need to beat myself up; I have learned to forgive myself, and if someone else has a problem with me, I don't need to play into it. I learned that the game of poker, hasn't changed, for me, its an addiction, and it always will be. I have learned, its okay to falter, but getting up is the most important lesson I have learned this time around. Get up girl, and keep going, each day is better. As long as I don't place that bet.

Will I gamble again. I don't know. I know that right now I can't and having a nest egg of security and not throwing it away is the most important thing. I'm also grateful that his is my problem and it's not drugs or alcohol.
