I was very touched by my awesome friends at school. They offered to go with me to my first GA meeting, if it would get me there. My counselor also thinks I should go. I am considering it. Thank you for encouraging me as well.

Hi S, What could you lose? And you have everything to gain. You are doing awesome, but there is nothing so powerful (to me) as the feeling that you are not alone. We here at DS are blessed to have one another, but think of it as another chink in the armor. Another cog in the line of defense. I have made such wonderful friends there (and here), but being face to face can be more powerful yet. Let your friend go with you. You never know what battles THEY may be facing. Maybe they need to hear something, too. Love and hugs, ~E

Takes lots of courage to attend your first GA meeting.
Will share something an old timer told me at my first meeting.
He said learn to listen and then listen to learn. I have been listening
to learn now for close to 11 years and as it says in GA yellow book
I have developed a better way of living and thinking. In closing would like to wish you well as you start your journey of recovery and share
a prayer which is on the inside of the GA Yellow Combo Book.

I sought my soul but could not see,
I sought my God but He eluded me,
I sought my Brothers and Sisters
and found all three.
