Compulsive gambling is an urge or addiction to gamble despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop. A preferred term among many professionals is problem gambling, as few people described by the term experience true compulsions in the clinical sense of the word. This is scaring me.
I am happy to see you have not succeed in your attempt. I have been there. I know what you are going through.....
I hope you believe this is not your 2nd life but is your life for the better. It's hard and imperfect but you can strive to make it better.
You have so much to offer for yourself and for the people you love. Don't define yourself as a compulsive gambler, you are so much more then that. Everybody makes mistakes and we do make same mistakes over and over but that doesn't mean we can't make it better today.
You are loved just as you are, with or without gambling. You are worth it, and you can make it better.
hope you get lots of rest and peace.
I see you, and your smile is beautiful!
Love,
Victoria

We all deserve a chance at making our lives better through staying away from gambling.
It is the toughest thing I have ever done and believe me when I tell you I have worked my fingers to the bones throughout my life.
I have endured deaths and heartbreak and pain that will never compare to the devestation of gambling.
God bless you to be back here with us and please please know that this will all be behind you and that you will come to relish and love your life once again.
It is by starting to once again feel what it is like and can be without gambling by just staying away one day and then another.
You are a most cherished and loved person and being here with us we all know just EXACTLY how wonderful you are and how hard this disease is to have. It is conquerable and I pray that you come to realize that you can overcome this and have your life back better than it ever was and better than you can believe right now. With each and every day and ONE DAY AT A TIME you will come to see this.
we so often covertly mention that this addiction is life threatening,
and in subtle ways talk about how bad it can get..........
everyone tip toes around saying suicide.
It is a very very real theat to us that are addicted and suffering the painful consequences of not being able to control our self defeating behavior.
I too was so close for so long to attempting to take my life...
I was completely tired and destroyed by going to gamble when I should have faced what life was giving me as it would have been far less life threatening and life altering than gambling.
YOU are simply the most courageous person I have ever "known" in a long time.
thank you for your sincerity and honesty as this will help us to see
just how horrible this addiction IS.
Please please do keep coming,
my heart goes out to you and I can hardly stand to not be able
to actually reach out and HUG you and comfort you through
this pain that is so real to me.
Stay strong
and let the doctors help you
and know that you will get through this
we will
together.
