I will not gamble today either. It is sure nice not having to figure out how to pay my bills. I have not had a late payment in about 2.5 years.

Keep going. One day at a time. No gambling today for any of us. We are all stronger than our addiction and together we can beat this and accomplish anything that we set our mind to do.

Today, NO gambling. It would have been ESPECIALLY my time to gamble (not that it took much, lol), as it is a Friday and a payday. My last day of the ninth month. Yay for us.

I haven't gambled and I won't gamble today!
Had a crazy day that started at 4:30AM yesterday taking my son to a NASCAR race with a group of friends and it was WAY hot, but a great time! Even though not my sort of thing, my son was very into it and I know if I was gambling I would never had considered it. One of the many blessings of being GF is doing things for others, especially family, and living a better life.
We didn't get back home till about 9:30PM, but sunburnt and happy to be back, but happier to have the experience with my boy!
P.S.- I didn't know it ahead of time, but apparently there was a casino there... the couple next to us was going there instead of tailgating... that's when I found out and was so proud to not have known, found out and found that revelation to be completely and totally irrelevant!!! I also took some reflection to know that if it were last year or 6 months ago, I'd likely have disappeared for hours over there and was very happy to not have done that and had such a good time with friends and my son, especially!

It is so important to get the first day of no gambling under your belt. It is so emotionally powerful to say no to the pull that is gambling addiction. I hope I am part of helping others not to gamble.

When I see this topic it makes me think of the move Network back in the 70's or 80's (not sure of exact time), but the scene where I think it was William Holden shouts- "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore." Well, you know what I think that's where we all were when we made the choice to take on this disease and that's how I feel still- I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna gamble anymore! Of course, I know that's all I can do today and that's what I'm gonna focus on.
