good for you Pam, making the appointment. we've all done some things we are not proud of while gambling, especially lying about where we were, or how much money we lost.

you've taken a first step: admitting you have a problem, and making plans to work on your problem.

Thanks Everyone for the encouraging words and mostly for not telling me what a rotten person I am for stealing :) This person is not me...don't know where she came from, but i am going to send her back to wherever....thanks again everyone and god bless you all...

Trust me when I say everything will work out if you stop gambling.

There are wonderful people here. I call them my online family and I really mean it.
We will talk you through whatever it is you have to deal with.
Dont gamble tonight and tomorrow will take care of itself.
Each day we make a conscious decision not to gamble for that day.
It is such a relief that our whole attitude towards life changes.

Pam you are not a bad person, you did things you wouldn't normally do out of desperation. I have even considered stealing money or things just to gamble, but just never did. I have borrowed after a loss, I have lied to family and I can't ask for money since most have given me money to cover gambling in the past.. The problem is gambling is what steals not you. It steals your family, your life, your heart and your mind. I am new here and today is my first day. I know all the things I should be doing. I am an addiction counselor (not for gambling) but all the same coping skills for addictions are closely related. You can get through this, just like I can eventually fix my overdrawn checking account today. In the meantime, we have to suffer he consequences of what we chose to do since we did choose to do the things we have done. We are good people, but something drew us to gambling and we all do for different reasons. I remember hearing a friend of ours tell my husband he lost his marriage and everything to gambling about 7 years ago. I thought he was crazy since I just thought it was stupid and even voiced that. I have always been a good money manager. Gambling even took that away from me. We can do this Pam I know we can.
