What I'm thinking about right now is hope, and a desire to lead a happier life. My mind is telling me to listen to my heart when it comes to my recovery, it's a connection I've needed for years and years. I don't think we can just use just our minds to understand this addiction, despite the fact that I think we're a group of intelligent individuals here. Feelings of hope live in our hearts, and so do our deepest desires. That's why I believe we all have a desire to quit gambling once and for all, isn't that why we came here? My desire is real, so that's what I'm focused on now. My mind has tricked me in the past to believe I could do whatever I want, and in most cases that might be true. But not when it comes to my gambling addiction, that's when my mind can get in the way. So I'm gradually learning to listen to my heart and my true desires. It's not always easy, but listening only to my mind isn't any easier. Hope lives in my heart and yours, too. Let's listen to it and nurture it, one day at a time.
