Compulsive gambling is an urge or addiction to gamble despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop. enjoy life on a daily basis.
look forward to my future again.
grow into the person God would have me to be.
look at my defects, and work on them.
shop a little bit.
go out with friends.
acknowledge my feelings, actually feel them for a change (good or bad)
heck, I just get to live again!
thanks for the reminder Leapy of the things we get to do when we aren't gambling. I'm super proud of your growth.
So happy to read your happy post! The little things we get to participate in life is amazing.
I regret the choices I made before but I dont regret the gambling days anymore. My being on the wrong road had brought me to this road today and this road is perfect for today!
So proud of you!
Love,
Victoria
Let's see.. This weekend I drove to see my Dad and step Mom. I drove right past the C-----'s down and back with no issues at all. I have had a few people talking to me about how they are going gambling. It's ok, As long as I'm not going. I think it's going to be impossible to avoid hearing about it. It's just something I don't do any longer. I'm dealing with massive stress involving my son right now and I need to stay on top of my feelings about it. It's so hard but I am trying. In the past I would have ran to the C-----!. My life not back to normal yet but at least gambling isn't bringing me lower. I don't wake up sick from guilt anymore. That's a great feeling. I have lot's of work to do to get my life back on track. Doing it without gambling makes it much more likely I will make it! I am hopefull. I will keep trying.
you are such an inspiration.
the way you TELL IT.
Yes, to once again be able to feel something besides pain.
Make the right choice and feel the excitement and fulfillment of
doing so.
Way to go on giving the "old place" the thoughts it deserves
which is next to none,
You are doing it and keep on doing it
as once you experience life again,
after remaining abstinent for a while it does start to
get easier and so rewarding.
Sadly we must always be diligent for the times that we
may fall and may get stressed or anxious and want to revert to
our old ways.
Don't ever let that happen and come here or GA or whatever it takes
to keep you path toward living your life.
again,
such an inspiration and you so eloquently put your feelings
and the progress you are making that is so heart felt for all of us addicts to see just how good and true and committed a recovering addicts story can be,
thank you and God Bless
you and keep you safe and strong.
"So much more for you to look forward to" YES !!!!!
