I finally....self excluded myself!

In my last post i said i felt i couldnt go to the bank to get a self exclusion form signed without being embarrased in doing that...but this morning i printed up two copies of the form and went into the bank and got them notorized,attached a picture of myself to the form and it is on its way to the casino in the mail as i write this.
Its kind of a mixed bag of feelings...i am relieved because now i know when i go to work in that area every week (i work near the casino 2 times a week) i live 40 minutes away from there....that i can not go in there whether tempted or not..but at the same time i feel as though the first time i do go out there i am gonna be thinking ...omg what have i done? i cant go in there? Hopefully when i have more money in my wallet because i am not losing it playing the slot machines...i will be very happy with my decision.

Good job -- in your town you don't self exclude from the Casino itself? what stops you from bringing cash in?

I'm not sure what you are asking. The casino i have excluded myself from..has my information..players reward card number ..even though that doesnt mean much to me because i played the slots most of the tme without using the card ...but there are 5 or 6 security men..usually one at each entrance and another couple of them walking around the casino. I have enclosed a picture of myself...just the fact that...there is always that "possibility" that they may recognize me as being someone "excluded" and the fact that i could be arrested if at the casino i do think it will keep me out of there...

I just have to say, that is a wonderful, wonderful step. I'm sure it'll feel bizarre the first few times you realize: Wait, I can't go in there! But after a while, you'll be so glad...and as you say, the money in your pocket is a wonderful boost in that resolve. But it's just one way of taking care of yourself (and your family). Hurray for you!

Hi Airbear.

I self excluded myself shortly after leaving a treatment center. Unfortunately I still relapsed by violating the order. I wasn't caught but had a close call. I wanted to share this because you will still have the urge but the price you will pay if you tempt fate and violate it will be detramental. Hang in there. Congrats on making that step. I know it had to be difficult.
