Hey Roxxxy, as you may know I am a big football fan, but more so with the pros. However I am a big Notre Dame fan, and am so rooting for them. Actually last week at this time I was at my Godfathers memorial service []sounds better to me, than funeral]. My Godfather's nephew is Nick Eddy, here is his bio: Nicholas Matthew Eddy (born August 23, 1944 in Dunsmuir, California) was raised in Tracy, California. A broad-shouldered 6 feet, 195 lbs, he attended the University of Notre Dame on a football scholarship. Eddy was a standout running back and kick returner. Eddy was an All-American halfback, leading Notre Dame to the 1966 National Championship. He finished third to Steve Spurrier and Bob Griese in the 1966 Heisman Trophy balloting. The Detroit Lions drafted Eddy in the 1966 NFL Draft. Eddy played for the Lions from 19671972, although he was never a star. He was hampered by knee injuries.
Anyway, we talked a while, and when we were leaving-it was NOTRE DAME all they way. Go IRISH! ~Estel

Awesome, E...Nick 's Uncle must have been very proud of all of his nephew's accomplishment. It's funny you should mention the movie, "Rudy"!!! I watched it last night.....wow, did that kid have heart! I always cry at the ending, pRticularly watching the family jump out of their skin with pride, when he takes the field!!!! Great Flick!

estel what a great story...dont you just love when we hear stories of our familes past ....what I wish the most is I would have gotten to spend more time with my mom so I could hear all her stories...she would tell me alot of them when the lights were out and her and I were all by ourselves...that was when I was very young..and now I wish I could have written everything down and my young age....well I am glad I have friends like you all to share this with...GO IRISH...and what a great acompilishment Eddy did back in 1966...this is a tribute to him also and I'm very sorry estel for your loss of your godfather...

Roxxxy, how wonderful to have those shared times with your Mother. There are certain things that bring us back to our younger years like nothing else. I know what you mean about remembering every word that you two shared, I am trying to draw out my Dad more. Although He seems to prefer not talking about when He was in the service. R, You know I will be thinking about you and your mom when I watch the game Monday.
