The way I have kept track of not wasting money at the casino is------
Not by counting the days. I don't even keep track of significant dates in general.
I have been known to forget my anniversary. I don't visit my parents graves sites to mark their death, or births because I don't remember these dates. It is just the way I am.
Dates are not important to me. I do remember when my children were born, oh wait I have been known to get that wrong too. I look at a calendar and it means nothing to me. It is a day I lived in the time of my life. Time is totally irrelevant to me. I believe everything happens
all at one time, and for a reason. Because we are human and have constraints on us, we must go through the motion of time. We then wear a watch and count off time and days. (I am always on time, figure that one out.)
That being said, Now let me say this, Where did I find all the time to waste at the Casino?
My gosh, I have gotten so much done around the house, rooms are sparkling, walls are painted, furniture is shinny, bathrooms are gleaming, floors are moped and waxed, flowers are watered, herb garden is taken care of, closets are organized, dinners are superb and projects get finished. I also go to work outside the home. When I look at everything I accomplish by not going to the casino, that is what keeps me away. (not to mention the money aspect)
What did my house look like for those 2 years I was drowning in my sorrow? What did I look like?
Do I have days that I think about wasting some time at the casino? Yes I do, but when I think of the person I had become and the person I am getting back to................... naaaa I want to see my accomplishments, not my waste.
I declare, Lets live each day so that it is not a day of regret, but a day to remember!

I did not care about friendship, love, family, house, God, life, news, hobbies or myself.
Friendships and relationships need to be nourished or they fade away. I remember feeling like I was committing the slowest suicide.
Today I feel blessed to have friendship, family, color, a still working body, a connectedness to the world and ability to feel love from others and myself that I have never known before.
I know I risk all of that if I choose to gamble again.
