Haven’t posted in ages but still read time to time. Hope this post helps someone and myself. I have been trying to quit for years but always find my way back. Usually it’s sportsbetting. I had 3 successful years that help me build a bankroll. Gave me false belief that the wins would continue. But it was the opposite. Things didn’t go my way anymore. And the winnings are almost all basically gone. $ was just ammunition for my next bet/rush. I began betting larger and needed to try to up it in order to feel satisfied. But there is not satisfaction and it’s never enough. Skip you were right and told me to walk away. The good news is that I didn’t put myself in financial harm. The bad news is that what it’s has taken away from me. I feel like I rarely laugh anymore. Non related gambling stuff isn’t exciting. Lost appreciation for many things in life. Feel down and blah often. I have gone thru many long stretches of not betting 3 months 6 and even longer. Didn’t need to bet everyday. Just keep finding my way back. Success was the worst thing for me because it gave me the false belief it would continue. So those of you thinking that you would be satisfied at some point and your compulsive like myself you are just fooling yourself. I have won more than I lost gambling in my life time and I’m not a happier person. I’m worse off from gambling. I don’t even really enjoy watching sports as much anymore. I replay the bad losses in my head. Im in a good financial situation. The time and stress that I have went through is so silly. I want my life back and be happy again. Appreciate my family. Not being fixated on the outcome of a game/match I have no control over. Enough is enough. I wish everyone a gamble free day.
