lol well good for you. hey ya maybe setting the pace for the rest of your family to follow. hell everyone dont mind telling ya about what they won but fail to mention about what they lost. hell next time ya go out for dinner maybe start up a conversation about how much money do you think your down since you all been gambling? could make everyone think twice about going.

Yeah, they would never admit what they lost. I could tell they lost because I didn't hear from them so I texted and their short response said it all. They hide it pretty well too. Lol Dewitt, they are always bragging when they win but never hear a word about their losses. They go all the time and never say anything now because I told them I wOnt go...they hide from me so I know they know they shouldn't be going either. Why would someone hide the fact they are going? Only someone who has a problem. I know first hand because I was a huge fan of gambling late at night by myself. Problem is my mom & sisters are in TOTAL denial about their problem. When I did go with them I would sneak off to get more $$ from the ATM praying they didn't notice. I actually caught my mom doing the same thing. She was cashing checks when she thought we weren't around the area. I also spotted my sister using a discover card to get a cash advance. Not pointing fingers, I did all of these things and much more. But it makes me sad to see this.

boy i did more than enough damage with the credit cards and gambling, so much so they wont never give me another cent cause i maxed all them out gambling. yeah ended up filing bankruptsy and believe me i would never aply for another one. i cant trust myself with anything like that ever again.

You hit the jackpot there. Look at that like a win in your column. Avoiding losses is the same as stacking up wins on a company's balance sheet. And we don't stop til its gone. Proud of you. Stay focused!

You are right Dewit. Credit just makes you a slave anyway. Even if you don't gamble. In my opinion, credit just gives people the opportunity to buy things that they really can't afford. I can see financing a house over 15 years at a decent interest rate right now, but maxing credit cards on daily expenditures is no better than gambling to me. Still piling up debt on something you really can't afford.

I borrowed my dad's car tonight to go to a friend's party. I thought about taking my credit card with me - in the back of my mind, I knew I might go gambling after the party, since having a car makes access easy especially late at night.

But I thought about this thread, and LEFT MY CREDIT CARD AT HOME.

When I was driving back from the party, I did feel a bit of an itch, and I bet if I had my credit card with me, then I would've gone.

well good for you toey. yeah them cards can put ya in a world of hurt. ild end up spending most of me cash at the casino and then go buy grocery's and what ever else was needed off that card. thats a loosing battle all the way arround. glad ya didnt fall in that trap.

gotta say though, cant tell ya how many times i used that card to get cash at the casino. sometimes up to 2,000 dollars. you would think the card company it self would say hey this girls getting a little carried away at this casino and start denying the transactions. nope lol not till i reached that limit on them cards did that happen.

They charge a cash advance fee, ATM fee, AND 21% interest starts accruing daily immediately!!!

In fact, when I first got the card, my limit was $6,000. When I started making progress in paying that off, they upped my limit to $12,000 because I was such a profitable customer. Unfortunately I fell into that trap.

Now I hate this company forever. I'm just waiting to redeem a gift card and then I'm going to get rid of it once and for all!

yeah i had them cards too for quite sometime before it all went up in smoke. when i first got them i wasnt a gambler. didnt make the best of wage and fell back on them a lot just to get by. over the course of about 10 years racket up like 15,000 in debt on the things and yeah as long as i was paying the minimum they kept upping the ante for me.

when i started gambling i never used them cards for cash and never really thought of it either. guess i found out some where that you could avoid them high intrest rates that goes with using the atm's by buying gift certificates to these casino's. lol lol lol yup thats where it all fell apart for me cause all it took was once and i was all in till that money was gone.
