Gambling Addiction & Recovery Support Group
Compulsive gambling is an urge or addiction to gamble despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop. A preferred term among many professionals is problem gambling, as few people described by the term experience true compulsions in the clinical sense of the word. Problem gambling often is defined by whether harm is experienced by the gambler or others rather...

If I could give this zero stars I would. This program is so bad that I registered an account here just to save others from the insane amount of aggro I've been through this past 4 days.
I bought it to nip a gambling problem in the bud... I've self-excluded from all the sites I had accounts with, and went and joined a ton more just so I could self-exclude immediately, ion case my resolve broke in the future and I found myself scouring google for more casinos/bookies.
I had the bright idea of also using a software that would block gambling sites, in case even after all the measures, I managed to find a site somewhere. Found gamblock, purchased it, and boy oh boy that's where it went downhill fast.
As the others have said: it blocks sites like
facebook
the bbc
'adult' sites
in fact anything with on-page text like 'bet' or 'winning' - even out of context entirely to wanting to gamble, it refuses to open, and also grays out EVERY OTHER TAB you have open in your browser. So if like me, you also use your computer for work... say goodbye to work, and hello to frustration upon frustration of losing tasks that are web-based, as it kills your other tabs while you try and read the news on the bbc.
It also completely disables task manager, again a thing I *need* for my work, so now I'm at: not being able to read the news; work being lost in other browser tabs; being unable to check tasks/processes
'support' started off ok, but quickly degenerated in a nazi-like response with such questions as 'what anti virus do you have in place if you are visitng adult sites'... wtf lol... now I get that not everyone likes the old adult entertainment, but talk about grasp at straws and deflect, when my issues were explained thoroughly to the support (I guess that basically means 'owner') guy, stefano.
point blank refused to revoke my licence so I could get back to work on my computer, point blank refused to issue any refund, so after 4, now coming on 5 days of lost work, I've had to go and buy a 2TB external drive to back up all my work, in order to reformat my computer, to be able to use it again for non-gambling related things.
Great idea, and will probably even suit a chunk of surfers, but oh dear woeful execution, and truly abysmal support.
I'm out 5 days wages so far (at least 2 to come while I backup/reformat) and I earn pretty well - I'll have lost high 4 figures by the time I get my computer back up and running.
Stay well away!!
