I am in the middle of what I hope is a successful road to recovery. Today is day 9 and I feel I have the most momentum I have ever had with trying to quit for good. I have been doing a "self check" daily in my status box to keep myself responsible for this recovery.
Last night I had what I believe was a severe gambling withdrawl. We had good friends over for some drinks and games. It was a great night, I was in a great mood and all of a sudden I turn to the dark side. I get very grumpy, moody, and borderline beginning to pout. I thought it was maybe the alcohol at first, but then I realized I am having a withdraw. Eventhough I am having a great time, my mind is used to only gambling to have fun and my system was completely messed up....does this happen to anyone else? What do you do when it does?
I was upfront with the people I was with, I was tired of keeping my addiction to myself and being embarrassed about it. I told everyone I feel I may be having an urge to gamble and I apologize for the severe mood swing. After that..the night was great again. On to day 9!!!

Moody, pouty, even a little hyperventilating and I'm sure that it is all just the stress of "change". I know though if given enough time...just as bugs said it will get easier.
We can get through these rough days...hang in there. You are doing a good job and are an inspiration to others.
