Consequence...............
I need to look that one back up,
because I obviously forgot what the word meant
when I was a compulsive and addicted gambler.
Addiction is the exact opposite of consequence.
It is the removal, the ignoring, the dissuasion of
what happens NEXT.
I had forgotten how to remember or relate
to what would happen after I gambled.
I had forgotten how to relate to the world
or even feel that I was of the world
once I gambled.
my biggest issue w/gambling is the below, i stand here today and still shake my head and say WTF did i do last night, are you out of your MIND? well i guess i am, literally, i have convinced myself beyond a shadow of a doubt that im NOT going to feel bad the next day about what i choose to do tonite, HOW CAN MY BRAIN WORK BOTH ANGLES SOOOOOOOO WELL???? sorry just frustrated and a bit scared, that this thing is just too big for me to handle....

The magnitism of addiction brings about
a complete removal of our conscious
awareness of the "consequences" of our
actions. Actions that our addicted brain
is focused on repeating time and time again,
IF WE LET IT.
We may have to sink low enough, or lose
enough to get to the bottom enough that
it "jolts" us back to reality,
just a tiny little bit is all we need,
to survive, to make the concious
decision to once again remember the
consequences.
Let's raise our level of conciousness and
realize that the consequences of gambling
compulsively can destroy a human life right along
with others who may be going along for the ride.

However this taking stock is a lie , because we are basing what we think the consequences will be by what happened in the past.
We have no idea how bad our gambling can get.
We are the lucky ones. No matter how bad our stories are we are the lucky ones by being granted the wonderful gift of being GF.
There are those who have died from gambling.
I have to immediately believe that this will be the consequence if I gamble again. That I am not willing to do.
You are right when you say CG can take a human life.

As we walk this journey, the gratitude of joy fills our lives. Honesty and acceptance liberate us to be free. We work on our flaws and shortcomings everyday, one day at a time.
When we are gambling, we ignore our conscious. Addiction almost always wins over consequences ,at least in my case, because no matter how painful it was, the pain eases with time.
I believe I am a compulsive gambler, I believe I am a pathological gambler. It is a part of me and always will be. That's why I have no desire or interest in gambling, because I am powerless over this addiction and for me, my next bet is a death...
