I have been busy working which I am really busy, running for my mental and physical well-being, and reading, (She Bets Her Life and Born to Lose)....went on Amazon today and got 3 more books, Going for Broke, Numb no More and Nicotine Dreams...these are all about compulsive gambling...gosh, the book, Born to Lose was so real that I felt that nauseated feeling each step of the way while the author was re-living his episode which got so bad that it almost ended him.
Funny, I dont have the urge to go gambling for now, I read and feel like I've lived the ugly desperation through these characters. As we say....One Day at a Time!!!

I have been gf for 37 days. We received 2 tax refunds. We have gone thru one monthly payday too. I thought it would be hard to have money and not gamble. But, the bills are paid for the most part. It feels good to not have to worry about getting your house foreclosed on, or if your electric will get shut off today, or your car reposessed. When our taxes came we paid off our high interest title loan. That is the first time in many years it didn't end up going right into the casino.
I also saw you mentioned yesterday, (and I tried to write but my keypad is messed up)) about gettting the casino stuff in the mail. I self banned myself last month and they still send me stuff. I rip it up and throw ii away too. We know that all they really want is all of our money. Also its all over the tv too. There's this one ad that has well known stars dressesd in tuxedo and evening gowns leaning against a brand new car. Their slogan is "where winning comes naturally".
It makes me mad when I see that.
Stay strong! We can beat this demon one day at a time.
