My wife and I went to see my Son and Daughter in Love this weekend in the Houston area. We flew into Hobby and rented a car. The young man who was driving the rental car shuttle was real friendly and we got to talking to him and asked him how the hurricane effected him. He said that his house was totally flooded and his car was also, basically lost everything. He said how happy he was to be able to get back to work and start to get his life back together. My wife asked him where he was living and he said where ever he could. Yet he was so upbeat and pleased that he was driving an airport rental car shuttle...I gave him a good tip since he was so friendly and real helpful with out luggage... Got to thinking about how despondant I sometimes get dealing with my gambling addiction which was self created, yet this young man who had lost everyting do to nothing he had done and was so upbeat...It just gave me another tool to put in my tool box to help me not destroy my life with gambling. Sometimes God teaches us lessons from the strangest school books to help us keep making it One Day at a Time....
A good reminder that I too, can chose my outlook. When I let the world and circumstances determine my mood and my peace of mind I am in trouble. Internal Joy and Gratitude. That's my wish too.
