The problem is with us. The casinos have a right to operate legally. It s easy to turn are anger at the place(computer) but it s not their fault that we can t handle it. Plenty of people can play win or lose and walk away. I can do that with liquor. No problem. I don t want to close or stop people from using liquor or selling it. Gambling though, I can t use and walk away. That s my problem, nobody else s. I need to fix me. It s an internal problem not external. No one forced me to gamble even when I realized it was financially killing me. We need to fix ourselves . The blame is squarely on our shoulders, not the casinos. Misdirected anger will not help us only give us excuses to stay broken. If we fix ourselves these establishments will not matter to us one bit. God Bless and Happy New Year.
It's too bad that addictive gambling doesn't have outward physical signs, so that the casino could have the equivalent of a bartender who would say "you've had enough, no more, time to go home." But since, as you pointed out, those of us who are addicted to gambling can't walk away -- and will keep gambling til it destroys us -- the only solution is to recognize our problem and not enter the casino at all.
But I agree, I am an adult and old enough to take and accept the fact that the fault is not on the casinos but ON ME. I can't make them casinos go away or go out of business but I can change my view and my attitude towards going in those places. I am responsible for my own actions. Nobody else.
